The RHI X-TREME Beep Baseball team opened their 2014 season by taking first place in the Indy Beep Baseball Bonanza the first weekend in June. The tournament took place in Indianapolis June 7-8. The team not only took home the first place trophy but also took home several individual all-tourney awards. Offensive awards went to Brian Christian, Demeili Wright, Nick Silver and Adam Rodenbeck. Rodenbeck also won a spot on the all-tourney defensive team and took home the tournament’s MVP for best play on both sides of the ball.
For the 4th year in a row, the X-TREME took home first place honors in the Bolingbrook Beep Baseball Bash in Bolingbrook, Illinois the weekend of June 14-15. The team has won the tournament each year since the team was formed. Among the individual award winners were offensively, Brian Christian, Nick Silver and Danny Foppiano. On the defensive side of the ball was all tourney team member Clint Woodard.
The last weekend of June the X-TREME took part in the St. Louis Firing Squad Tournament in St. Louis, Missouri. The team took 3rd place in this tournament as the undermanned team gave it their all, but finished short. Due to injuries and overheating in 95 degree heat, the team was unable to finish at the top in this tourney, but is making the necessary adjustments to be ready for the biggest tournament of the season, the World Series. These years’ festivities will be held the week of August 1, in Rochester, Minnesota with a mix of over 20 teams from all over the country. The team is anxious and excited about their chances for a first place finish this year… We wish them the best of luck!
