About RHI
RHI opened its doors in January 1992 as one of the largest freestanding rehabilitation hospitals in the Midwest. Our continuum provides inpatient acute services, and outpatient and vocational rehabilitation services for adults with spinal cord injuries, brain injuries, strokes, amputations, orthopedic conditions, neuromuscular diseases, burns and related disabilities.
RHI is a community collaboration between Clarian Health and St. Vincent Health.
RHI was built for rehabilitation, and that is evident when you visit our scenic campus. Our hospital offers the following amenities:
- A 12,000 square foot gymnasium with state-of-the-art equipment
- Our gym has practice areas such as a kitchen, bathroom, bed and car
- We also have two whirlpools and a swimming pool used for rehabilitation
- Patients enjoy large rooms which don't restrict wheelchair mobility
- Large bathrooms with customized showers and sinks built especially for rehab patients
- Hallways and doors are wide, and nursing stations are built at wheelchair height
- Two Transitional Living Units (TLU) within the hospital
The TLU is a furnished apartment-style living area that lets patients practice being at home while professional help is still readily available. TLU patients test their skills and build confidence in their abilities while discovering areas where they still need improvement.
Visiting Hours
General visiting hours for rehabilitation patients are 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Ample free parking is available for all visitors. To arrange a tour at any campus, just call the hospital and set up an appointment.
