Balance Program
More than 90 million American adults experience dizziness or balance problems at some time in their lives. Balance Disorders are the primary medical cause of falls among the elderly as 40 percent of people over the age of 40 will experience a dizziness disorder.
Balance Self Test

Do you feel dizzy or unsteady if you make sudden changes in movement, such as bending down or turning quickly?
Do you have dizziness or feelings of unsteadiness?
Have you experienced a stroke or other neurological problem that has affected your balance?
Do you have numbness or loss of sensation in your legs or feet?
Do you use a walker or wheelchair, or do you need assistance to get around?
Are you inactive? (Answer yes if you do not participate in a regular form of exercise, such as walking, 20 to 30 minutes three or more times per week.)
If you answered “yes” to one or more of these questions, you may have a balance and/or vestibular disorder.
How RHI Can Help
In keeping with our mission to help individuals reach their highest potential, RHI offers a Vestibular (dizziness/vertigo) and Balance Retraining Program. This program includes a comprehensive balance evaluation and individual training program performed by physical therapists using state of the art technology adopted from NASA. The Neurocom Posturography Assessment and BalanceMaster computerized training programs provide objective data to help identify the CAUSE of the balance disorder and thus allow us to better TREAT THE PROBLEM. This technology, combined with experienced physical therapists interpreting the results and incorporating the patient’s goals, ensures success.
Because of the complexity of balance control, not all balance problems are the same. Maintaining one’s balance requires that multiple body systems work in unison. Aging, disease, medications and injury can all affect these systems and can lead to imbalance, dizziness and mobility problems.
But here’s the good news… RHI’s Balance and Vestibular Program can help restore BALANCE in YOUR life!
The benefits of RHI’s Vestibular & Balance Program:
- Objective data and computerized testing
- Complete Reports shared with physicians
- Quicker time to functional treatment and activities of daily living
- Improved patient outcomes as a result
