RHI Foundation Board of Directors
Bill Winingham, Chairman, is a partner of Wilson Kehoe & Winingham, a personal injury law firm very familiar with RHI. As an author Bill has assisted attorneys in providing greater support to the plaintiff and their family. Bill is an advocate for injured individuals and is a major supported of the Dr. Lisa Thompson Center for Family Education at RHI. Bill and his wife Maureen have three daughters.
Denny Armington is CEO of Rehabilitation Hospital of Indiana. Denny Armington is the Chief Executive Officer of Rehabilitation Hospital of Indiana, Inc. Mr. Armington came to RHI in 2000, previously managing the West Coast Operations Division for RehabCare Group. Prior to that, Mr. Armington held administrative/director positions in public and private rehabilitation companies, disease management companies, and public and private, not for profit rehabilitation and acute care hospitals. Mr. Armington is active in the hospital industry serving on local and regional industry related committees and task forces and serving as a voluntary surveyor for CARF, the Rehabilitation Accreditation Commission. Denny’s wife is Sandy and they have three sons and a daughter.
Jim Cotterill is a former RHI inpatient and outpatient having suffered a spinal cord injury as the result of a bicycle accident. Jim gratefully had a successful recovery and had the desire to get involved at RHI. Jim has over twenty years of experience in publishing and was the co-founder of Business Journal Publications Corp., a holding company for the Indianapolis Business Journal as well as similar publications in St. Louis, Pittsburgh, Baltimore, Cincinnati, Philadelphia and Dallas. Wanting to help others with disabilities, Jim is now the President of the Hoosier Christian Foundation. Jim’s wife is Nancy Cotterill and they have two sons and a granddaughter.
Colleen David is a former RHI patient who developed paralysis due to Transverse Militias. She recovered and is serving on the RHI Foundation board to give back to others. Colleen is co-owner and creator of GluvIts, LLC, a sign language to music approached that assists preschoolers in developing early reading skills. Colleen has a son and a daughter.
Henry Feuer M.D. is a retired Indianapolis neurosurgeon who served as the President of the RHI Medical Staff from RHI's opening in 1992 until 2006. He serves on the Research and Development Committee for the RHI Foundation. He maintains a new sports neurosurgery clinic one day a week at Methodist Sports Medicine Center, treating high school, college, and professional athletes. He remains the neurosurgical consultant for the Indianapolis Colts, Indiana University, Purdue University, all major races at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, several other Indiana colleges and universities, and most Indiana high schools. Hank's wife is Nanci and they have a son and a daughter.
Alvin Givens is a VP in the Middle Market Banking group for Chase Bank in Indianapolis. Alvin has worked in banking and financial consulting in Chicago and Indianapolis. He is active in Techpoint and other economic development activities in Central Indiana. Alvin is the chair of the Research and Development Committee for the RHI Foundation and has been instrumental in developing the RHIF’s ongoing research focus. Alvin’s wife is Nadine, also a VP at Chase. They have a teenage son and daughter.
Rick Rucker is a native of Bridgeport, Illinois. He is the President and CEO of Rucker’s Candy, a family operation started in 1985 that has grown into a nationwide distributorship. Rucker's is the fastest growing candy distributor in the country. Rick and his wife Linda are active members of the Lawrence County Illinois Parkinson’s Disease Association and serve as committee members of the Michael J. Fox Foundation.
Scott Weaver began his career in the state and local tax business in 1982. In 1991 he founded Innovative Consulting Service in Indianapolis which merged with BKD, LLP (formerly GSO, LLC) in 1995 to become one of the first non CPA partners in a national accounting firm. In addition, Scott has overseen the start-up of many successful businesses. and is a speaker at seminars on tax and finance issues throughout Indiana. His past community involvement has included the Indiana Blood Bank, Board of Trustees, The American Heart Association, Gleaners Food Bank, Indianapolis ZOO, Red Cross, and the Indiana Mental Health Association.
Beverly Pember is a former inpatient and current outpatient at RHI after suffering several simultaneous strokes. Beverly has a nursing and public health background and has held both clinical and executive positions in health care as well as having served in various capacities as a community volunteer. She has extensively researched and sought out neurological rehab and is interested in serving on the RHI Foundation Board as a way to give back to RHI and the community. Bev is married to Marvin Pember and they have a teenage son and daughter.
Bruce Agan is President of US Automatic Sprinkler Systems and has had a thirty five year career in the life safety and fire protection industry. The company design, installs, inspects, services and monitors all life safety and loss prevention technologies. Bruce became familiar with RHI when his father in law was a patient. Bruce’s love of athletics led him to involvement and support of the RHI Sports Program. Bruce and his wife Cindy have four grown children, Kelly, Ashley, Mike and Andy.
Larry Dykes is a principal of Somerset CPAs, P.C., and is a licensed insurance professional. Larry has had family members treated at RHI. Prior to joining Somerset, Larry was a director and partner in Fringe Benefit Planners for 15 years. His expertise in risk management ranges from the analysis of appropriate disability policies to developing business and personal strategies for the implementation of life policies utilizing tax favored strategies. He also places a special emphasis on charitable planning. Larry received his B.S. degree cum laude in three years from Butler University in 1978. Larry currently holds the Chartered Life Underwriter, Charted Financial Consultant, and Accredited Asset Management Specialist designations. From 1995 to 1998 he was a NFL Players Association Certified Contract Advisor. Currently, Larry is a member of the American Business Club, Wine & Food Society of Indiana, and the White River Yacht Club. Larry is a life long resident of central Indiana. He is married with 3 adult chidren.
Tim Worthington is owner and managing partner of the Worthington Hospitality Group. He was an RHI inpatient after a traffic accident in 2001 and is grateful for the care he received. Tim is the former Vice Chairman of General Hotels Corp. He teaches Lodging Management at IUPUI and is Executive in Residence at Purdue’s Hotel School. Tim has served on numerous boards in Indianapolis including the Indianapolis Private Industry Council, Boy Scouts, Capital Improvement Board, Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce, National Multiple Sclerosis Society and has served as President of Downtown Kiwanis and as the chair of the 500 Festival.
