Wound Care

If you are suffering from a non-healing wound, you are not alone!

Every year approximately six million people ( 2% of the population) suffer from acute and chronic non-healing wounds. These wounds generally result from a number of factors including:

• Diabetes
• Trauma
• Surgery or Amputation
• Vascular disease
• Chemical burns
• Immobility which can lead to pressure sores

Why is wound care so important?

Wounds that are not treated effectively can result in life-threatening infections and lead to diminished quality of life and debilitation.

Our experienced team at RHI is dedicated to treating wounds - including many that have resisted healing after months of traditional treatment.
On your first visit to the RHI Wound Care Center

Following a thorough evaluation, our team will develop an individual treatment plan with detailed instructions on how to care for your wound. We will work with you and your personal doctor to provide:

• An individualized, comprehensive plan of care
• Advanced Therapies and Wound dressings
• Proven Clinical Protocols
• Thorough training for you, your family or caregiver
• Address the underlying cause of the wound
• Education related to prevention, hygiene and nutrition
• Updated progress reports
  

You may also need special, non-invasive tests that will provide us with information about the blood flow and oxygen level to the wound area.

Much of the success of your treatment depends on you!

The program will include regular visits to the RHI Wound Care Center to provide treatment, evaluate your progress and make any changes that might be needed. It is important to keep your appointments and follow the instructions for your individual wound care. Our staff is always available to answer your questions.

Insurance Coverage

Many health plans cover Wound Care Center treatment. Your coverage depends on your specific plan. Please remember to bring your insurance card.


As with all services at RHI, when a patient comes to us for Wound Care, they can expect individual attention from our expert and dedicated staff!
