RHI Mini Pacers Finish Strong in Holiday Tournament January 1st, 2011

The weekend of December 11th and 12th the RHI Mini Pacers prep wheelchair basketball team traveled to Rockford, IL to play in the 11th Annual Rockford Jr. Wheelchair Basketball Holiday Tournament.

The tournament started off with a rough game, as the Mini Pacers fell to the eventual prep tournament champions, Minnesota Courage Center Rowling Rowdies, 10-23.  But the Mini Pacers  kept their spirits up and won their next two games by scores of 36-0 and 18-4.  Their two consecutive wins put the Mini Pacers in the 3rd place game where they won convincingly 24-6!

The Mini Pacers received strong efforts from all their players and were led by Prep Tournament MVP Nick Oman.  This is the first time ever the Mini Pacers have placed at a tournament and just shows the hard work the kids, ages 7-12, have put in over the past few months.  Next up will be their home tournament at the Monon Community Center in Carmel, IN on January 29th & 30th. Great job Mini Pacers!
