Ryan D. Nagy, MD, has been appointed to the newly created position of chief medical officer for the adult academic health center (AHC) effective June 12. The new role is a consolidation of the IU Health Methodist and University hospital’s CMO roles.
Among others, Nagy’s focus will be on:
Building more creative and productive relationships in the physican community and with IU School of Medicine and other related schools, as well as with potential partners, Supporting and developing approaches to improve physician alignment. Leading the development of clinical and other aspects of the AHC of the Future. Partnering with the adult AHC chief nursing officer and the quality leadership team to further develop a culture of safety and lead quality initiatives, and Collaborating with Jonathan Gottlieb, MD, chief medical officer for IU Health, on system-wide clinical initiatives.
Nagy is a graduate of IU School of Medicine and has been in practice for over eight years. He is an anesthesiologistfor IU Health Physicians at IU University Hospital and has participated in numerous IU Health initiatives, including leadeship of the Finance subcomittee of the AHC of the Future steering committee.
